I've been a teacher, researcher, and technical author.

I currently work as a technical writer in the software industry. Before that I was a scientist, where I led research projects and taught university courses. For a sample of projects from my career, see my portfolio.

I’m a member of the Ubuntu Desktop team.

I lead documentation strategy for Ubuntu on WSL and Enterprise Desktop. I work closely with engineers and designers, and contribute to UX decisions for our products.

I’m also coordinating the development of a new Ubuntu wiki.

I coordinated research projects focused on food processing and food structure.

As a principal investigator, I helped secure 1.5 million in research funding.

I gave over 700 hours of lectures and supervised over a dozen PhD and MSc projects.

Designing an open-source interactive simulation of Stokes' law

This paper outlines the design of an interactive simulation of Stokes’ law, which is used frequently in the study of particle sedimentation and flotation. The software application includes dynamic visualizations and statistical outputs. The application and its source code are made freely available for inspection and modification by educators and students.

This study aimed to determine whether the fat and protein content in dairy‐fruit blends prepared using full‐fat, semi‐skimmed, skimmed or high‐protein milk in combination with freeze‐dried blackberry puree influenced the bioaccessibility and bioavailability of blackberry polyphenols and organic acids.
